Greenhouse Studio – Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
The owner of a Lake Geneva estate and accomplished artist wanted to convert the use of her 100 year old greenhouse into a studio where she could paint undisturbed for hours.

Her favorite artist was Monet. CB Wilson tracked down two antique easels, tables, stools and wicker furniture of that period. The antique wicker was totally refurbished and freshly painted, and dirt floor replaced with bluestone. Chosen fabrics included a tea stained linen cotton blend (Fonthill Ltd) fabric, freshened with the occasional use of a small bright Pierre Frey (gold and raspberry) print.

Antique Collector's Bedroom – Delavan, Wisconsin
This room had a beautiful view of Lake Delavan and the owners didn’t want to lose any of it behind drapery. Consequently, the valance needed to be short but very wide. Cindy Wilson designed a wide band of fabric sheered between burgundy cording to give it “presence” and weight. Because this is a second story room, “top down” window shades could be used for privacy and the view maintained.

This is a year round bedroom so warm colors in the fabric and walls were selected. The burgundy and tobacco in the Gaston and Daniela fabric enhances the patina of the French provincial armoires and other antiques in the room.

Remodel – Fontana, Wisconsin
Rather than furnish this house, the task was to work with the owner and architect/builder to completely redesign the home’s interior space and surface finishes. The challenge was to make the house as energy efficient as possible while maximizing every inch of usable space without increasing the building’s footprint.

The living room was opened up to the view, the kitchen relocated and a new living space floor was created where a crawlspace had once been. One bedroom, two bathrooms, two fireplaces, and a small wet bar / laundry area were added in addition to increasing the amount of usable living and storage space. The objective of every decision regarding trim detail, flooring, hardware and tile was to maintain the cottage look and feel of this wonderful old lakefront summer home.

Remodel – Williams Bay, Wisconsin
This bedroom and bathroom were completely redone to suit the owner’s granddaughters. All new light fixtures, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures and flooring were selected and installed in the adjoining bathroom. Although it is hard to tell in this photo, the walls were upholstered with a layer of batting and a blue cotton fabric. Upholstering walls adds the kind of softness and warmth that gives any bedroom a warm and welcoming feel.

1995 National Wood Flooring Association Floor of the Year
Thatchet’s Wonder Shell – Jupiter Island, Florida

The owners of a newly constructed Jupiter Island, Florida condominium didn’t see a need to actually furnish their 10x13 private elevator foyer, but wanted something interesting that would set the tone for the whole 3000 sq ft apartment. The views of the ocean and beach from the 6th floor apartment were breathtaking, and set the tone for the design elements. Because the owners had young children at the time, all of the flooring, furnishings and design had to be simple and durable as well.

Inspired by the oceanfront setting, CB Wilson sought out a Merchandise Mart based floor company known for its custom inlays. When Birger Juell, Ltd said they could fabricate any design in wood, the designer chose an intricate seashell design. The stunning wood inlay (see picture) won a 1st Place prize from the National Wood Flooring Association.
