I had the good fortune to work on this 100 + year old cottage with architect David Coates. We needed to double the use able space without expanding the building footprint or height. We created the kitchen from the former dining room that also served as the entry and used the porch to expand the living room. Because the house had suffered years of damage from storm water runoff, the building was lifted to build a new, waterproof foundation which, in turn, expanded the livable space.
